Become a Vecino Con Poder (neighbor with power) by attending our Vecinos con Poder leadership workshops. Vecinos con Poder will provide neighbors with the tools suitable for becoming active participants in the development of the city’s budget.

Introduction to Milwaukee’s City Budget: July 16, 6pm-7:30pm

Learn more about the City of Milwaukee’s Budget, where the city gets its money, how those funds are used, and how you can voice your thoughts about the budget.

Public Comment Workshop: July 30, 6pm-7:30pm

Interested in voicing concerns about the City Budget but unsure how to provide public comment at the Budget Hearing? Join our workshop to learn the process and craft effective statements for impactful feedback.

Mayor’s Public Hearing on Plans and Budgets: Aug. TBD

Join us for the Mayor’s Public Budget Meeting! Hear directly from the Mayor what his plan is for the City’s Budget. Use the skills learned from the Public Comment Workshop and let the Mayor know your thoughts on the proposed plan for the City’s Budget.

Democracy 101: Aug. 27, 6-7:30pm

At the Democracy 101 Workshop you will learn how to identify your representatives and learn more about the different levels of Government.
