Neighborhood Action Plan: Small Steps, Big Changes

The Plan Advisory Committee (PAC) came together in 2019 to work alongside other Silver City, Layton Park and Burnham Park neighbors to update the 2011 Quality of Life Plan for 2020-2025. PAC members have helped to:

  • Review and evaluate the original 2011 Quality of Life Plan
  • Form committees based on Plan priority areas
  • Facilitate committee meetings and develop action plans within each committee
  • Work with the community at large to create an updated Quality of Life Plan action guide
Download the Neighborhood Action Plan to learn more about which steps and actions you can take as a resident of Silver City, Burnham Park and Layton Park to continue to improve the Quality of Life in your neighborhood.

In 2011, VIA convened the first PAC. Together we embarked on a year-long planning process to develop a comprehensive Quality of Life Plan for the Milwaukee neighborhoods of Silver City, Burnham Park and Layton Park as part of the Zilber Neighborhood Initiative.

Hundreds of neighbors, business owners and community stakeholders participated in dozens of one-on-one meetings, focus groups and community gatherings to identify priorities for the neighborhood’s continued growth into the future. This plan, and the Action Plan completed in 2019, continue to guide the work of VIA and other community partners.

Watch the video below to learn more about the process of creating this plan.
